Training and feedback session: Sparking action in our churches

Sparking action in our churches on tax justice and ethical finance

Friday 10 June | 10.00 - 14.30

A training and feedback session for ECCR supporters, campaigners and church leaders in the West Midlands.

Venue: The Wiseman Room, The Church at Carrs Lane, Birmingham, B4 7SX

  • What would help you feel more confident in speaking or preaching on tax justice issues or helping people connect their faith/values and their finances?
  • Could you help us grow the movement of Christians who live out their faith by campaigning and acting for a fairer, greener economy?

ECCR is developing a volunteer Champions network – equipping people in churches and communities around the UK to educate and inspire others to take action on issues of ethical finance and tax justice.

This training session is your chance to help us test out the training material, gain confidence in speaking to others about tax justice and ethical/green finance issues, and share your feedback.

Come and find out more about the Champions network, learn, reflect and pray together and hear the latest updates from our two programmes – Money Makes Change and Church Action for Tax Justice.

With facilitation and input from Cat Jenkins (Church Action for Tax Justice Programme Manager) and Rosie Venner (Money Makes Change Programme Manager).

With Fair Tax Week coming up (11 – 19 June, including Tax Justice Sunday on 12 June) and thinking ahead to Good Money Week (3 – 7 October), this is a great time to be starting a conversation in your church about money and justice.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided for participants. Spaces are limited, please register your place via Eventbrite or contact us for further information.

All welcome – you don’t need to have been involved in ECCR or with our programmes before. If you are passionate about the connections between money, faith, justice, climate and the wider economy or want to learn more – come and join us.

There is no charge to attend this workshop but you are welcome to make a donation online towards the work of ECCR (registered charity no.1139618).
