Current programme

ECCR has embarked on a new three-year work programme (2007-2010) comprising nine activities that together address ECCR's four strategic objectives.

Strategic objective 1. To influence the policies and practice of companies, particularly those based in Britain and Ireland

• Activity 1. ECCR will maintain existing, and develop new, company and sector dialogues.
• Goal: to influence the policy and practice of at least three companies or sectors on issues of concern.

• Activity 2. ECCR will research and publish influential new sector, company and issue reports.
• Goal: to gain knowledge of, and alert ECCR's membership and wider constituency to, at least three new companies, sectors or issues.

• Activity 3. ECCR will build relationships with host communities.
• Goal: to enlarge ECCR's partnership network of host communities affected by British and Irish companies.

Strategic objective 2. To work with others to develop international co-operation in the corporate responsibility and responsible investment movements

• Activity 4. ECCR will continue to support the Bench Marks partners  network.
• Goal: to maintain and enhance collaboration with Bench Marks partners and effective use of the Bench Marks.

• Activity 5. ECCR will collaborate at European level with like-minded organisations. 
• Goal: to strengthen responsible investor advocacy and influence company policy and practice by working with others across Europe. 
  

• Activity 6. ECCR will collaborate at an international level with like-minded organisations.
  
• Goal: to strengthen responsible investor advocacy and influence company policy and practice by working with others worldwide.

Strategic objective 3. To foster corporate responsibility and responsible investment within the economic life of the Church through education and awareness raising

• Activity 7. ECCR will reach out to the British and Irish churches and church bodies.
• Goal: to achieve greater awareness of, and more engagement on, corporate and investor responsibility among the British and Irish churches and church bodies and groups.

Strategic objective 4. To strengthen ECCR’s own membership and organisational base

• Activity 8. ECCR will work to develop and expand its membership.
• Goal: to build membership, establish new local and interest groups, and achieve higher levels of member participation.

• Activity 9. ECCR will strengthen its secretariat and resource base.
• Goal: to enable ECCR to deliver activities 1-8 effectively and to enhance organisational and financial sustainability.
